Videos of the 2020 Impact Unconference

Part of our kaupapa (purpose) is accessibility — so we uploaded all 32 videos of every session from the
first Aotearoa Impact Unconference held on 24 April 2020.

We’ve also shared all that we learned here.

We’ve included shareable YouTube links in the descriptions too. Help us spread the word by sending this link on to others.

Our hope is that these videos are thought-provoking and also inspire action.

Thanks from our team to the speakers and all who contributed!

Opening session

Anton Mathews, Steven Moe, Erica Austin, Barry Grehan, Jessie Cross, Natasha Zimmerman

We live in a unique juncture in time and this Impact Unconference is taking place now for a reason. We want to capture the energy of this moment (late April 2020) where we are all looking at the past, at the old paradigms of thinking and ask ourselves: Do we want to rebuild what we had? The crisis and the opportunities that result provide the overarching context for this Unconference. Our hope is that the topics, conversations and challenges are a catalyst for new connections and ideas, and that each of you are inspired to take action...

Anton Matthews: Normalising Te Reo in the Workplace

Te reo Māori and Māori culture is part of what makes Aotearoa such a special place. Te reo Māori doesn’t just have to be a formal reo reserved for the marae, it can be a part of everyday kōrero (conversation) and we can all do our bit to normalise it one word at a time - even in the workplace. Anton Matthews (Te Rarawa, Te Aupōuri) will share his experiences of doing just that as the owner of bilingual restaurant FUSH. www.eatatfush.com
